Taking your family on a trip through the lower Midwest soon? If so, make an effort to see Cincinnati, the Queen City.

It is one of Ohio’s greatest urban environments, offering just as much for kids as it does for adults. Below, we review its top attractions in a child’s guide to Cincinnati…

1) EnterTRAINment Junction

Do your children love trains? If so, a trip to EnterTRAINment Junction will be an outing that the whole family will enjoy.

Boasting over 25,000 square feet of space, this museum contains over 90 trains and two miles worth of track (all in miniature) underneath its roof, all of which does an excellent job of relaying the multi-century story of railroads in the United States of America.

When it comes time to play, your little ones will enjoy running through Imagination Junction, a 5,000 square foot play area that will succeed in getting them to burn up all the energy that they all have in spades these days.

2) Lazer Kraze Erlanger

Got some older kids that love playing first person shooters when they play video games back at home? Take them out for some laser tag at Lazer Kraze Erlanger.

Located on the Kentucky side of the river, this establishment has state of the art 3DX technology in its arena, making the action heart poundingly good!

If some of your crew isn’t into war games as much, this facility also boasts an indoor trampoline park. While bouncing around the room is fun enough on its own, just wait until you get a game of trampoline dodgeball going in there – addictive fun that will have you coming back sooner than you realize.

3) Newport Aquarium

If you are looking for something educational and a bit more sedate, then the Newport Aquarium will be prove to be a great venue for you and your children.

This aquatic zoological facility is home to numerous sea and fresh water faring species such as penguins, sharks and otters.

Voted to be one of the best attractions of its kind in the entire USA by the Travel Channel, you’ll love (or loathe) the shark bridge – a rope suspension span that passes over a tank of over a dozen of sharks (the ocean’s and history’s most efficient hunters).

Once you survive that, you’ll get the chance to actually touch one of these guys, as well as penguins for those that are a bit nervous. Aside from these highlights, there is so much more to discover here – make it a central part of your Cincinnati itinerary.
